A Cuban Son-Montuno (Salsa) written in gratitude to my own Miami High students for their passionate devotion to our program, and premiered by those same kids at the 1993 Midwest Clinic. Nostalgic opening piano solo (written), kicks into high-gear salsa. Open solos and great vehicle to feature your rhythm section. Rhythm instrumentation is optional. One intermediate drummer can handle it all. Grade 4. Not yet offered to any publishers but will soon!

Written in 2019. This dreamy Samba-ballad opens with a single, very poignant guitar solo, morphing into a soothing, floating trombone solo (transition) and then brief contrasting sections and kicks into a high energy funk with high trumpets. The tune winds down to that poignant, single guitar again. This one is already available through Print Music Source and JW Pepper.

An easy grade 2-ish Salsa that I wrote in 1995 after walking into my band room at Miami Senior High (as a teacher) and stood there watching the absolute chaos right before boarding the buses for a football game. I loved it. My life was crazy in the best way, and it was the most fun anyone could witness 150 kids having in one, loud, explosively happy band room ...
